Protective Relaying
While electromechanical relays have
mostly been replaced
with microprocessor-based instruments, thousands of these devices still
protect
transmission lines and electrical equipment all across the U.S. These
relays provide various types of electrical protection by detecting
abnormal
conditions and isolating them from the rest of the electrical system by
circuit
breaker operation.
CC&E
Engineers experience with protective
relay systems comes from several engineers who specialized in
maintaining Rocky
Mountain Power’s protective relay systems for decades.
