• Engineering design of communications, control and electrical systems, including microwave radio, fiber optics (SONET), SCADA, critical relaying, TDM networks, industrial Ethernet networks, mobile terrestrial radio, power systems, etc.

Notable Recent Projects:
Pinto 345 kV Substation Expansion Project –
• Complete communications system design of SONET fiber ring between existing 138/345 kV buildings and new capacitor bank building. Included design and documentation of critical relay, SCADA, and communications circuits.
State of Utah Timing Project –
• Included the design, materials acquisition, installation, and turn-up of four timing clocks at strategic locations in the State of Utah’s microwave network.
Thermo Substation (Intermountain Renewable Power) –
• Design of 900 MHz microwave path for new substation. Design of all in-building communication and powering equipment for two new sites. Assisted in later cutover of microwave to fiber optic transmission path.
SCADA Consolidation –
• Assisted in documentation, including high-level system diagrams, DCS cross-connects, and equipment/other miscellaneous diagrams for bridging of EMS SCADA systems between Salt Lake City and Portland.
US Magnesium –
• Design of microwave path profiles in upper 6 GHz band for new substation. Included design of tower and dish installation, including waveguide support, grounding, and termination of elliptical and rigid waveguide. Design of communications and powering equipment.
Education:
BS degree in Computer Engineering Technology (CET) at Weber State University (WSU), with AS degree in Computer Science, Ogden, Utah, December 2007. 3.9 GPA.
• Course work in electronic & microcontroller system design, embedded controllers, communications, telecommunications, electronics, IP networking, computer science, and programming in C/C++, assembly language, Java, Matlab, Visual Basic, Delphi, PHP, and ASP.
