OVERVIEW

Experience in budget, design, schedule, management, coordination, and construction of electronic communications projects; including microwave, fiber optics, and multiple addressing systems (MAS).   Experience in design, management, and construction of metering projects including 3-phase, solid state, programmable meters; measurement of electrical parameters displayed on digital panel meters, strip chart recorders, and interfaced with computer and SCADA systems. Also, some relay engineering experience and some experience in transmission power flow and stability studies.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Twenty-six years of experience in the electric utility industry budgeting, designing, scheduling, managing, coordinating, and constructing electronic communications projects. Responsible for coordinating all electronic communications projects in Utah from Salt Lake south from 1992 to 1995 for PacifiCorp. Responsible for electronic communications projects for PacifiCorp as assigned from 1995 to 1998. Responsible for budgeting, scoping, and estimating all electronic communications projects in the state of Utah from 1998 to 2004 for PacifiCorp. As Area Engineer, responsible for coordinating all electronic communications projects in Utah from Salt Lake south from 2004 to 2014 for PacifiCorp. As Area Engineer, responsible for coordinating all electronic communications projects in parts of Utah (Uintah basin and from the city of Nephi, Utah south) and one site in Colorado, one site in New Mexico, and one site in Arizona from 2014 to 2018.

Thirteen years experience in detailed design, installation, and accuracy of metering electrical parameters in all power plants at Utah Power and all major interties; including interfaces to computers, SCADA’s, and telephone modems. Participated in training apprentice metermen, especially in mathematical calculations of watt-hour metering parameters.

Two years experience in power flow and stability studies in Transmission Planning Department at Utah Power & Light.

Three summers in Cadastral Engineering Department, drafter; one summer in Construction Engineering Department, general helper; and one summer in Price, Utah on line crew, groundman. All summer jobs at Utah Power & Light Company as student temporary.

Volunteered with Boys Scouts of America from 1995 to 2013 serving as Scoutmaster (18 months), Committee member (10 years), District Commission (3 years), Institutional Head (5 years), District Committee Member over Eagle boards of review (3 years). Recipient of District Award of Merit.
